Russian poultry import quota slashed

President of the Russian Meat Union announced that in order to promote local production, the quota on poultry imports in 2011 will drop 33%, while beef and pork import quotas unchanged. Moscow Times reported that meat producers to lobby Musheg Mamikonyan head of the organization, said the poultry quota may be cut to 400,000 tons, about 70% from the United States.
